Kano State Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change, Dr. Dahir Muhammad Hashim, has commissioned the Lungu Kal-Kal project at Layin Dan’isa, Yakasai Quarters, in Kano Municipal Local Government Area.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Hashim described the project as a key component of the state’s urban renewal agenda, designed to upgrade infrastructure, improve drainage, reduce flooding, and enhance living conditions for residents.
He commended the patience and cooperation of the Yakasai community during the project’s execution, assuring them of the government’s unwavering commitment to delivering more people-centered developments.
“This project is not just about drainage, it’s about dignity, safety, and quality of life,” Dr. Hashim stated.
The event drew the attendance of Kano Municipal Council Chairman Salim Hashim; Sarkin Yakin Kano, Mujittaba Abubakar Abba; Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, QS Shazali Garba Fagge; Acresal Project Coordinator Aminu Gidado; and supporters of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
