The Chairman of Rano Local Government Area in Kano State, Malam Muhammad Naziru Ya’u Rano, has launched a free medical outreach aimed at providing surgical care for 100 less privileged individuals.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony held at the council headquarters, Hon. Ya’u disclosed that the initiative is being implemented in collaboration with the ANNUR Medical and Surgical Team.
The outreach will offer free surgical operations for patients with hernia, appendicitis, goiter, vesicovaginal fistula (VVF), and nodules.
The program, scheduled to run for five consecutive days, is targeted at residents of Rano and surrounding communities, delivering vital healthcare services to those in need.
The Chairman said the initiative aligns with the council’s broader efforts to improve healthcare access and ease the burden of surgical ailments among the underserved population.
He urged residents to take full advantage of the opportunity and expressed gratitude to the Kano State Government and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his continuous support in strengthening healthcare delivery across the state.
In his remarks, the Primary Healthcare Coordinator of Rano LGA, Ibrahim S. Ibrahim, applauded Malam Naziru Ya’u Rano and Governor Yusuf for their commitment to the health sector.
He also announced ongoing plans to provide free medicines across all health facilities in the local government.
Dr. Ayuba Bashir, head of the ANNUR Medical and Surgical Team, advised patients to adhere strictly to medical instructions and post-operative care guidelines to ensure successful recovery.
One of the beneficiaries, Malamisa Idris, expressed deep appreciation to the Rano Local Government Council and the Kano State Government for their dedication to enhancing public health and improving lives at the grassroots level.
