Jigawa: LG Chairman Offers Scholarship to 448 Students

To enhance the educational sector and encourage students in various tertiary institutions in Jigawa and our neighbouring states, the Chairman of Kirikasamma Local Government Area, Muhammad Maji Wakili Marma, has empowered 448 indigenous students studying at various tertiary institutions with over 13 million Naira as scholarship.  

“The initiatives is to complement the 12-point agenda of Governor Umar Namadi by encouraging them to bag tertiary institution certificate to stand on their own feet as leaders of tomorrow,” he said.

The local government training officer, Iliyasu Zakar, said 448 students who are studying at various tertiary institution will receive 30,000 each.”

Muhammed Barma, the coordinator of Danmodi Students Care Kirikasamma, urged the students to support the administration of Governor Umar Namadi to improve the livelihood of youths.  

Another official at the event, Idris Abubakar Gambo, urged the students to pay attention to their studies and obtain good results.

The National President (NAJISS) Jigawa state chapter, comrade Abubakar Muhammad Kazura, commends the effort of the chairman in pushing the 12-point agenda of the state Governor to encourage students to pursue Western education.
