Kirikasamma Local Government Area in Jigawa State has inaugurated a Local Committee on Creativity and Innovation to operate across the area, with a mandate to identify and nurture local talent.
The committee, led by Grema Mai-Musa as Focal Person, includes the HOD of Community Development, three representatives from educational institutions, three representatives from artisans, the Special Adviser on Education and Local Government, and the Council’s Information Officer.
Members will tour communities in the local government to discover individuals with specialized creative and technical skills for advanced training.
As part of the Ministry of Higher Education’s Creative and Innovative Week program, selected artisans—including blacksmiths, carpenters, mechanics, and others, will receive targeted training to sharpen their craft.
The initiative reflects Governor Umar Namadi’s commitment to promoting creativity and innovation, empowering skilled individuals, and boosting economic potential across Jigawa State.
