To improve living standards and promote self-reliance among residents facing hardship, the Council Chairman of Birniwa Local Government, Honourable Shehu Baba, has empowered a widow struggling to cater for her orphaned children.
He stated to our reporter in his office on Wednesday that the gesture aims to safeguard and enhance the children’s future, particularly in their educational struggles.
The widow Madan Umaru Kantari, who is a resident of Diginsa ward in Birniwa, received a grinding machine and a startup grant of N20,000 to support her welfare.
Overwhelmed with emotion, she tearfully expressed gratitude to the council chairman for the gesture.
Earlier, Hon. Baba reiterated his commitment to uplifting the local government and welcoming constructive advice to achieve excellence in good Governance.
