The All Progressive Congress APC Jigawa State Chapter has vowed to track and punish the group that embarked on a smearing campaign against the reputation of the Minister of Defence, Hon. Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, and other state party leaders.
The State Party Chairman, Hon. Aminu Sani Gumel, stated this in a statement on Tuesday in Dutse following the story making rounds in the media, accusing the former state governor and Minister of Defense, Hon. Muhammed Badaru Abubakar, of anti-party activities.
He said: “The attention of the All Progressive Congress APC Jigawa State Chapter was drowned by the activities of the party enemies who are desperate to engender crisis in the party by smearing campaigns against party leaders in the state.”
The Chairman noted that the party has been meticulously monitoring write-ups on social and mainstream media on the calculated attempt by some unscrupulous element to create disturbances in their party.
“Those bad elements who are not even card-carrying members of our party are using some few narrow-minded party members in promoting their sinister agenda against party peace and stability.
“The APC Jigawa state government under the leadership of Governor Malam Umar Namadi is a reflection and continuation of the immediate past state government led by Muhammad Badaru Abubakar.
“The two Leaders have the party’s confidence and regard to the higher esteem, their reputation is sacrosanct to us and must be guarded jealously.
“The Jigawa APC will never be allowed any misguided element to create discomfort or a scenario that may deter or interrupt the led APC Government from delivering its campaign promises in Jigawa state and Nigeria.
“One of the such fabricated sponsored reports against our leader the Hon Minister of Defense Muhammed Badaru Abubakar will be verified and appropriate action will be taken on it.” the statement declared.
However, the Party Chairman said the faceless group that is not in the record of the APC headquarters in Jigawa state had in their smearing campaign labeled so many false allegations against the Defense Minister including anti-party.
Hon. Aminu asked: “Where was the group when the Minister was APC North Campaign Coordinator and successfully delivered Jigawa state and region to President Bola Ahmad Tinibu during the 2023 general election?
“Other childish and silly accusations against the Minister by the unknown group.
“However for the record and public clarification, Jigawa APC will use all necessary avenues within the ambit of law to fish out the group and its sponsor for appropriate political and legal action,” the party declared.
