The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Malam Madori has organized a stakeholders’ meeting to ensure the smooth conduct of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise across the local government area.

Speaking at the meeting, the Electoral Officer for Malam Madori Local Government Area, Kabiru Ibrahim, said the engagement was aimed at sensitizing stakeholders and the general public on the need to avoid multiple registrations during the CVR exercise.

He explained that eligible voters who have lost their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) or whose cards were damaged by fire are expected to report such cases and register for replacement cards, rather than attempting fresh registrations.

Kabiru further disclosed that the INEC office in Malam Madori has scheduled a rotational CVR exercise that will run for nine weeks, beginning from 2 February 2026.

According to him, the exercise will be conducted across all wards in the local government area to ensure wide coverage and accessibility.

He also emphasized the importance of community sensitization to encourage high turnout, while cautioning that underage persons must not be enrolled during the registration process.

The meeting was attended by stakeholders from various organizations, including security agencies, the press, the National Orientation Agency (NOA), transport unions such as the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and the National Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO), traditional title holders, as well as religious leaders, including imams and pastors.

In his remarks, the District Head of Malam Madori, Dokajen Hadejia, Muhammad Saleh Kuliya, pledged to engage community leaders to mobilize residents across their respective areas for effective participation in the exercise.
