The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has extended heartfelt condolences to the Federal Government, the people of Katsina State, and the Buhari family over the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

A statement on Tuesday by the Force spokesperson, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said the IGP described Buhari’s passing as a monumental national loss.

He praised the late leader’s lifetime of service, courage, and integrity, both as a military head of state and a democratically elected president, noting his enduring legacy of discipline and patriotism.

In honour of the former president, IGP Egbetokun personally led a high-powered police delegation to Daura, Katsina State, for the burial rites, joining President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, traditional rulers, political leaders, and other dignitaries who paid their last respects.

The Nigeria Police Force mourns alongside the nation and prays for the peaceful repose of Buhari’s soul, urging Nigerians to uphold the ideals of leadership, accountability, and national unity exemplified by the late statesman.
