The House of Representatives on Tuesday approved the sum of N1.485 trillion as the 2025 budget for Rivers State.
The approval came after the adoption of the report by the House Ad-hoc Committee overseeing affairs in the state, during plenary.
Breakdown of the budget shows that N256 billion is allocated for personnel costs, N162.5 billion for overheads, while capital expenditure takes the largest share with N1.06 trillion.
The budget was passed following the consideration of a bill titled: “A Bill for an Act to Authorise the Issue from the Rivers State Government Statutory Revenue Fund of the Rivers State Account, the Total Sum of N1.485 trillion for the Year Ending 31 December 2025.”
The Committee of Supply, chaired by Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, approved the bill before the House reverted to plenary, suspended its rules, and passed the budget through the third and final reading.
