Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has been honoured with the Governor of the Year 2025 Award by the SilverBird Group.
The award was presented on Sunday at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Governor Yusuf was recognised for his commitment to good governance and his transformative leadership, which has positively impacted various sectors across the state.
His administration has recorded notable strides in education, healthcare delivery, infrastructure development, and agriculture, among other areas.
In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mustapha Muhammad, it was noted that since assuming office, Governor Yusuf has focused on implementing people-centred policies and programs aimed at repositioning Kano State for sustainable growth and development.
The statement added that the administration’s achievements have continued to attract recognition from reputable organizations both within and outside Nigeria, leading to multiple honours and commendations.
At the award ceremony, the governor was described as a visionary leader who is redefining governance in Kano State.
Particular reference was made to the Kano First Agenda, which was praised as a strategic blueprint driving inclusive development and progress in the state.
Governor Yusuf was represented at the event by his Special Adviser on State Matters, Bala Usman, who received the award on his behalf.
In his remarks, he expressed appreciation to the SilverBird Group for the recognition, congratulated other award recipients, and urged them to see the honour as a call to greater service and impact.
The occasion marked a significant milestone for Governor Yusuf and his administration, underscoring the growing recognition of Kano State’s developmental strides.
