Governor Yusuf Receives Awards at 29th Council Meeting

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has received three different awards conferred on him by different bodies in appreciation and recognition of his commitment taken the state to greater heights.

The awards were presented to the governor today at the commencement of 29th Kano State Executive Council meeting at the Governor’s lodge in Kwankwasiyya City.

This is made known in a Press Statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad in Kano on Wednesday.

The awarding organizations include: Mediscope Medical Services based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in recognition of Kano State Government’s committement to advancing the mining and natural resources sector.

The award was presented to the governor by the Commissioner of Solid Minerals, Alhaji Hamza Safiyanu Kachako.

Another award of Excellence came from the Northern Youth Unity Forum, an affiliate of Northern Elders Forum on outstanding feat in solid minerals exploration and ensuring environmental suitability and Community development.

The Commissioner of Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya presented an award of ‘Journalist- Friendly Governor’ awarded on the governor by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) on the occasion of its 70th anniversary.

Responding, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf thanked the awarding organizations for recognizing his administration’s efforts of uplifting the living standard of people of the state.

He assured that he will continue to be determined to work tirelessly and strive for excellence, prosperity and socioeconomic development.
