Kano State Governor, Kabir Yusuf, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting youths in fostering economic development.
The Governor stated this at his office when the All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth wing paid him a courtesy call on Friday.
Mustapha Muhammad, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, said in a statement on Friday that the Governor, who has declared this year as dedicated to youths, firmly believes that meaningful development cannot be achieved without the full participation and active involvement of young people.
He added ” that is why present administration keeps on empowering youths and offer them opportunities in government appointments.
“Forty percent (40%) of the appointments are youths, which include: commissioners, Director Generals, Managing Directors, among others.”
On his part, the Special Adviser to the Governor on State Matters, Alhaji Usman Bala, informed the Governor that the Youth Wing under the leadership of APC National Youth Leader, Mr. Dayo Israel, successfully conducted their summit in Kano without any hitches.
The Special Adviser further noted that the current administration prioritises youth empowerment through various channels, including apprenticeship programs, skill acquisition, and entrepreneurship to drive economic growth and social inclusiveness.
Earlier, the APC National Youth Leader, Mr. Dayo Israel, thanked the Governor for his support in hosting the Youth Progressive Summit at the Kano Government House.
He commended the “People’s Governor” for his dedication to youth-led development and pledged his continued support for the administration’s initiatives.
