Governor Yusuf Congratulates Dr. Bashir Umar on his Appointment as President of SCSN

Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, on behalf of the good people of the state, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Sheikh Dr. Bashir Aliyu Umar on his appointment as the new President of the Supreme Council for Shari’ah in Nigeria (SCSN).

He described Dr. Bashir’s appointment as a well-deserved recognition of his remarkable scholarship, leadership, and steadfast commitment to the ideals of Shari’ah and social justice.

Governor Yusuf noted that Dr. Bashir, a distinguished scholar in Islamic studies and Islamic finance, has over the years contributed immensely to the development and promotion of Islamic principles in Nigeria and beyond.

Holding a Ph.D. in Hadith and Islamic Studies from the Islamic University of Madinah, Dr. Bashir has served with distinction on several key committees, including the Shari’ah Advisory Committee of Stanbic IBTC Bank and the Council of Experts on Islamic Banking of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

According to the Governor, the unanimous confirmation of Dr. Bashir as President of the Supreme Council for Shari’ah in Nigeria is a testament to the confidence reposed in his ability to provide visionary leadership and uphold the sacred mission of the Council.

While praying to Almighty Allah (SWT) to grant Dr. Bashir wisdom, strength, and success in his new role, Governor Yusuf assured him of the continuous support, prayers and good wishes of the government and good people of Kano State.

He further called on the entire Ummah to rally behind the new leadership of the Council as it strives to promote justice, unity, and Islamic values across the nation.
