Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle and senior staff redeployment within the state civil service.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa, the governor said the changes were aimed at strengthening governance and improving service delivery across key ministries.
Under the new directive, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Haruna Isa Dederi, has been reassigned to the Ministry of Transport. The Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary in the Justice Ministry, Barrister Mustapha Nuruddeen Muhammad, has been moved to the Ministry of Environment as Permanent Secretary.
The Commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs, who had been serving in an acting capacity at the Ministry of Transport, will return to her substantive post.
Governor Yusuf directed all affected officials to hand over their responsibilities to the most senior officers in their respective ministries, with the exercise to be completed by the close of business on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to accountability, efficiency, and purposeful leadership, the governor said the redeployment was designed to maximize capacity, align responsibilities, and ensure effective delivery of government policies.
He also urged public officials to fully cooperate with the newly redeployed commissioner in carrying out his duties.
