Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, sends a N22 billion supplementary budget to the Kogi Assembly for approval.
This is in addition to the approved N582.4 billion 2025 budget by the State Assembly. If approved, the state budget will amount to N604.5 billion.
The announcement for the supplementary budget was contained in a letter sent by Governor Ododo, which was read by the Speaker, Rt Hon. Aliyu Umar, during the House sitting on Tuesday
Reading the letter sent to the house by Governor Ododo, the Speaker said, “This supplementary budget will adequately address the prevailing State of the nation as it impacts our State.
“I wish to inform this honourable house that this supplementary budget is predicated on the effect of the fuel subsidy removal, ongoing infrastructural development activities, nationwide inflation, and the imperative need to ensure the security of lives and properties of our Citizens.
“The supplementary budget has become necessary. This will bring the existing data and further enhance the safety and security of our State for both residents and prospective residents”.
The budget was committed to the House Committee on Appropriations, and they are expected to report back to the Assembly in the next two weeks for further legislative actions.
