Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, condoled with Yauri Emirate and the family members of a man, Malam Usman Mai-Gadi, killed by a hippopotamus at Tillo village in Yauri Local Government Areas of the state.
He urged the Emirate and the family to take heart and accept the will of God Almighty in good faith.
He prayed to Allah to forgive the deceased shortcomings and grant him Jannatul Firdaus.
The deceased was buried according to Islamic rites.
According to reports, the deceased, a security man (Mai gadi) of Orchard Farms owned by His Royal Highness, the Emir of Yauri, Dr Muhammad Zayyanu-Abdullahi met his death when the hippopotamus attacked him while fishing.
It was gathered that the dangerous animal perceived the man as an endangered species, who intentionally came to harm its baby, hence the attack against him in self-defense.
