Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State has attributed the successful rescue operation to the proactive intervention of President Bola Tinubu, GCFR, who personally coordinated efforts to secure the victims’ freedom.
According to a statement by the Governor’s spokesperson, Rafiu Ajakaye, the abductees regained their freedom on Sunday.
Governor AbdulRazaq expressed deep gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the decisive actions that led to this outcome.
He noted that the President cancelled his planned trip to the G20 Meeting in South Africa to address the security breaches in Kwara and Kebbi States, and also ordered enhanced security deployments across Kwara, a move that he said underscores the President’s commitment to the safety and welfare of Nigerians.
The Governor further appreciated the Office of the National Security Adviser; the Department of State Services (DSS); the Nigerian Army; the Nigeria Intelligence Agency (NIA); and the Nigeria Police Force, which deployed four new tactical teams to the state on the President’s directive.
He also thanked security personnel, community leaders, religious bodies, and all Kwarans for their support and solidarity throughout the ordeal.
