Bichi Development Association also known as Fitilar Jama’ar Bichi has launched a tree planting campaign at primary schools in the local government area.
Launching the campaign at Kanti Primary School Bichi, the Chairman of the Association, Rilwanu Idris Malikawa Garu, said the effort is the association’s initiative to provide a conducive environment of teaching and learning in all primary schools in the area and fight against desertification in the area.
He said Fitilar Jama’ar Bichi provides available seedlings that would be distributed to primary schools in the local Government and well-meaning people in the area.
Malikawa Garu urged the headmasters of the schools to ensure they take measures to protect the planted trees in their schools.
He reiterated the association’s determination to introduce more policies and programs to move the area forward.
On his part, Bichi local Government Education Secretary, Auwalu Bichi commended the association for re-introducing a tree planting campaign in the schools which he described as timely.
Bichi urged all headmasters in the local government to come to his office and collect the seedlings they would plant in their schools.
