Ex-president Buhari Donates N10m to Victims of Jigawa Tanker Explosion

Former president Muhammadu Buhari has donated the sum of ten million Naira (N10 million) to the victims of the Jigawa state tanker explosion which killed over 187 people and 72 others sustained injuries.

He announced the donation when he paid a sympathy visit to some of the survivors receiving treatment at Rashid Shekoni Teaching Hospital Dutse.

Buhari who extended his condolences to the state government and all people of the state over the tragedy, described the accident as very unfortunate.

The former president who was received by the Jigawa state deputy Governor Engr Aminu Usman, urged the government and family of the victims to regard the accident as an act of destiny.

He however called on the people of the state and Nigeria in general to take pre-causion measures whenever there is a tanker accident and all necessary security shall be enforced to deter people from going closer to it.

The former president also prays to almighty Allah to forgive the deceased and give their souls eternal rest in perfect paradise and also give a quick recovery to those who survived the incident.

His entourage during the Jigawa includes former Minister of Aviation Hadi Sirika, former Minister of Communication and Digital Economy Professor Ali Pantami, Former SGF Boss Mustapha, and former Minister Engr Suleiman Husaini Adamu among others.

In his response, the acting governor Engr Aminu Usman thanked the former president for the visit and the donation he made to the victims.

He said. Jigawa state people have appreciated Nigerians for their kind concern shown to the state in this trial moment, he also assured the president that, the state governor Malam Umar Namadi has established a committee to ensure all the donations collected have reached the affected families completely.
