Emir of Rano Cautions Intending Pilgrims on Illegal Luggage Practices

The Emir of Rano, His Royal Highness Dr. Muhammad Isa Umaru Autan Bawo, has warned intending pilgrims to desist from the illegal practice of carrying or keeping other people’s luggage, both at home and in the holy land of Saudi Arabia.

The Emir gave the warning during the opening ceremony of the 2026 Hajj orientation workshop organized for intending pilgrims from local governments within the Rano Zone held at Rano local government Secretariat hall in Rano town.

Dr. Muhammad Isa Umaru Autan Bawo the nineteenth expressed his happiness with efforts of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board and the Kano state government under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, particularly the various initiatives introduced to improve the welfare of pilgrims from the early stages of Hajj preparations through their safe return to Nigeria.

According to the Zonal Information Officer, Rano Zone, Abdullahi Musa Gyadi Gyadi, in a statement on Sunday, the Emir also advised pilgrims to attend all Hajj orientation lectures to fully understand the rules, regulations, and proper procedures of Hajj, which would be explained by learned Islamic scholars.

The Rano local hovernment council chairman,Malam Muhammad Naziru Ya’u Rano, emphasized the importance of attending the workshop, stressing that it was necessary for every pilgrim to understand all the rites of Hajj in order to perform an acceptable pilgrimage.

Malam Muhammad Naziru Ya’u Rano also urged the pilgrims to avoid any act that could invalidate their worship or tarnish their image, and to conduct themselves as good ambassadors of Rano Local Government, Kano State, and Nigeria at large.

In his remarks, the Kano State Secretary Pilgrims Welfare Board, Lamin Rabi’u Danbaffa, represented by the Director of Aviation at the Board, Aminu Yakasai, stated that any intending pilgrim who wishes to perform Hajj must be spiritually prepared to resist the temptations of Satan by avoiding all acts that could negatively affect his pilgrimage.

He added that , like every year, this year, the Kano state government in collaboration with the state Pilgrims Welfare Board has put adequate measures in place to support pilgrims in performing their religious obligations in a conducive manner.

Speaking, the local government Hajj center Officer, Imam Mansur Liman, expressed his appreciation for the commitment of the Emir of Rano, Dr. Muhammad Isa Umaru Autan Bawo ,and local government council chairman,Malam Muhammad Naziru Ya’u Rano, in their efforts for the promoting and supporting Islamic activities within the area and across Kano State.
