Thousands of horse riders accompanied the Emir of Kano, HRH Aminu Ado Bayero, to the annual Holy Qur’an recitation competition closing ceremony organized by the Ganduje Foundation.
According to Abubakar Balarabe Kofar Naisa, Chief Press Secretary to His Highness the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, the event showcased the Emir’s unwavering commitment to promoting Islamic education and fostering moral and spiritual growth among the youth. Kofar Naisa emphasized that the Emir views the competition as a platform to inspire the younger generation to deepen their connection with the Holy Qur’an and its teachings.
Speaking at the event, the Emir praised the foundation’s efforts in nurturing an appreciation for Qur’anic recitation and underscored its role in bringing blessings, tranquility, and divine protection to the community. He urged students to honor their parents, teachers, and leaders while associating with righteous companions to become exemplary future leaders.
Emir Bayero encouraged the pursuit of knowledge in religious and modern disciplines, advocating for a balanced approach to education to drive societal progress. He appealed to the government and community leaders to continue supporting Islamic schools alongside modern institutions to ensure the comprehensive development of Kano State and the nation.
He expressed profound gratitude to Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Governor of Kano, for his dedication to Islamic education through the Ganduje Foundation. The Emir also paid homage to his late father, Emir Alhaji Ado Bayero, for his legacy of service to Islam.
Dr. Ganduje, in his remarks, reiterated the foundation’s commitment to rewarding excellence, presenting gifts such as Hajj seats, vehicles, motorcycles, and other essential items to top-performing students. The closing ceremony, marked by cultural pageantry and community solidarity, highlighted the importance of education in preserving Kano’s Islamic and cultural heritage.
