The 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, has directed district heads to attend the Eid-ul-Kabir Durbar in Kano, scheduled for 16 June.
This is despite his deposition by the Kano State Government on 23 May 2024.
A letter signed by the Palace’s Senior Counselor and Galadiman Kano, Abbas Sanusi, said the District Heads should prepare and attend a meeting at the Nasarawa Palace of the Emir of Kano to formalize plans for the Durbar.
Since his deposition by the Kano State Government following the repeal of the 2019 Emirate Law, the 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, has been holding court at the Nasarawa Palace amidst heavy security presence.
The 16th Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi (II), holds court at the ancient Emir’s Palace, Kofar Kudu, known as Gidan Rumfa.
