The Edo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has deployed no fewer than 1,400 personnel across the state to provide security during the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
Commandant Agun Gbenga, who is in charge of the Command disclosed this in a press statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Benin City.
Gbenga said the personnel would be deployed to provide security at all Muslim praying grounds and strategic locations in the state for the Sallah celebration.
He said the deployment aimed to ensure a hitch-free celebration and free flow of traffic across the state.
The Commandant, however, directed the Deputy Commandant in-charge of operations, Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, and Tactical Operations Officers,(CTU, AGRO-RANGERS,ANTI VANDAL) to ensure thorough supervision of personnel deployed.
He warned miscreants to steer clear, stating that anyone engaging in mischievous acts will be dealt with according to the law.
Gbenga, who assured residents of the state of a peaceful celebration, however, urged the public to be law-abiding and support the NSCDC and other Security Agencies in maintaining law and order.
