Edo State Government has officially initiated the transition process by writing to Governor-elect Monday Okpebholo and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to form their transition team.
The team will work closely with the outgoing administration’s transition committee, chaired by Joseph Eboigbe, to ensure a seamless transfer of power and responsibilities.
In a letter dated October 10, 2024, Secretary to the State Government Joseph Eboigbe emphasized the importance of establishing a smooth and effective collaboration between the two teams.
The letter reads, “I hope this message finds you in great spirits. As we prepare for the transition of power, we believe it is crucial to establish a smooth and effective collaboration between your team and the current administration.”
Eboigbe proposed October 14, 2024, for the inaugural meeting of both transition committees, stressing the government’s commitment to providing necessary support and resources for a successful transition.
He expressed optimism about working closely with Okpebholo’s team to set the foundation for a successful administration that meets the expectations of Edo State’s constituents.
This development follows Governor Godwin Obaseki’s inauguration of a 20-member transition committee in July 2024, also chaired by Eboigbe, to facilitate a smooth transition of power and knowledge to the next administration.
