The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has announced that 16 officers of the Armed Forces of Nigeria will face disciplinary action for alleged acts of indiscipline and breaches of military regulations.
Director of Defence Information, Brig.-Gen. Tukur Gusau, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday in Abuja, noting that the officers were apprehended during a routine exercise after investigations revealed conduct inconsistent with military ethics.
Gusau said some of the affected officers had ongoing disciplinary cases or complaints linked to career stagnation and repeated promotion exam failures.
He added that all those found culpable will face trial under the Armed Forces Act, stressing that the move aims to reinforce discipline, professionalism, and adherence to military values.
“The Armed Forces of Nigeria will not tolerate any conduct that undermines its unity or constitutional role,” Gusau stated.
