Political realignment is underway in Kebbi State as dozens of members from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Congress (APC), and Social Democratic Party (SDP) have defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kamba/Dandi Local Government Area.
The mass defection was formally announced on Wednesday during a political rally held in Kamba town, where the new members were officially welcomed into the ADC fold.
ADC State Chairperson, Hawa’u Muhammad, popularly known as Yar Buga, hailed the development as a major step forward for the party in Kebbi South.
She said the influx of defectors reflects a growing loss of confidence in the dominant political parties.
“The people want change. They are tired of broken promises and failed leadership.
“The ADC stands for accountability, inclusion, and service. That is what is attracting people to our party,” she said.
According to party sources, many of the defectors were former ward and polling unit executives who left their former parties over what they described as poor leadership, neglect, and internal crises.
Observers say the development could reshape the political landscape in Kebbi State ahead of the 2027 elections, particularly in areas where voter loyalty is beginning to shift from the traditional political blocs.
