Court Sacks KANSIEC Chairman

Federal High Court sitting in Kano, on Tuesday, sacked Chairman of the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC), Prof. Sani Lawan Malumfashi, and other board members.

This development is coming just three days to the local government elections fixed for October 26.

The court presided by Justice Simon Amobeda, removed Malumfashi from office for being a political party card-carrying member.

The case was filed by Aminu Aliyu Tiga and the All Progressive Congress (APC).

The court also ordered the Police, DSS, Civil Defense, not to participate or monitor Kano state local governments elections.
