Nassarawa Local Government Chairman and Deputy ALGON Chairman (Kano Central), Ambassador Yusuf Shuaibu Imam (aka Ogan Boye), has launched a land distribution and rehabilitation initiative to support more than 25 graveyards across the council area.

The program, flagged off at Zangon Tagwai Graveyard in the Farin Masallaci area of Giginyu Ward, comes in response to the destruction caused by heavy rainfall during the ongoing rainy season.

At the event, the Chairman also announced a ₦2 million cash donation to the graveyard’s rehabilitation committee to help repair damage after recent flooding washed away several graves.

Speaking on behalf of the committee, Mallam Muhammad expressed gratitude for the intervention, describing it as an act of compassion, religious responsibility, and exemplary leadership.

Special prayers were offered for the success of the Kano State Governor, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, and Chairman Imam.

In separate remarks, the Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. Aliyu Musa Jibo; the Secretary of the Local Government, Hon. Ado Muhammad Hotoro; and the Director of Personnel Management, Ibrahim Muhammad, urged residents to cooperate with authorities and promptly report environmental challenges for swift government response.

The Head of the Community Welfare Department, Ibrahim Hussain (Cediyar Yan Gurasa), revealed that land allocations had already been approved for 25 graveyards, with rehabilitation works underway.

He described the Chairman as a proactive and responsive leader committed to community welfare.
