CCB Sensitization Visit to Kano Housing Corporation Targets Ethics, Transparency, Accountability

The sensitization and enlightenment visit today by the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) to the Kano State Housing Corporation is aimed at strengthening ethical conduct, transparency, and accountability among public servants.

It Focused on educating staff of the Corporation on the mandate and activities of the Bureau, with particular emphasis on the proper completion and submission of Assets Declaration Forms as required by law.

The officials of the Bureau provided detailed explanations on who is required to declare assets, when declarations should be made, and the consequences of non-compliance or false declaration.

Speaking during the session, the head of the CCB Hajiya Larai Ibrahim represented by Mohd Ibrahim Khalifa, emphasized that the Bureau’s mandate is not to witch-hunt public officers but to guide and support them in upholding integrity, probity, and the rule of law in public service.

He noted that asset declaration is a constitutional requirement designed to promote transparency, prevent corruption, and build public trust in government institutions.

Participants were taken through by the legal officer of the bureau Barrister Atika Abdullahi Idris, a step-by-step practical guide on how to correctly fill the Assets Declaration Forms, common mistakes to avoid, and the procedures for submission and verification.

The interactive session allowed staff to ask questions and seek clarifications on grey areas, which were clearly addressed by the Bureau’s officials.

According to the official by the Code of Conduct Bureau said the visit is part of its ongoing nationwide sensitization campaign to deepen awareness of ethical standards in the public service and to promote a culture of integrity across government institutions.

In his remarks, the Managing Director of KSHC, Abdullahi Rabiu, was represented by the Deputy Managing Director, Engr. Isyaku Umar Kwa commended the Code of Conduct Bureau for the timely sensitization visit, describing it as a welcome development that will enhance compliance, professionalism, and ethical standards within the Corporation.

He assured the delegation of the management’s commitment to ensuring that all staff comply fully with the provisions of the Code of Conduct for Public Officers.

Alh. Abdullahi Rabiu further reiterated that KSHC remains committed to the ideals of transparency, accountability, and good governance as championed by the administration of His Excellency, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, Executive Governor of Kano State.

He urged staff to take the sensitization seriously and apply the knowledge gained in the discharge of their daily duties he stressed.
