CAC Jerks Up Service Fees From August 1

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has revised its service fees, effective August 1, 2025.

According to the Commission, the decision was made after a thorough assessment of the current economic climate, rising operational expenses, and extensive consultations with key stakeholders.

In a public notice made available to reporters on Tuesday, the CAC explained that the fee adjustment aims to deliver efficient, technology-driven services in line with the needs of businesses and the Nigerian economy.

According to the CAC, the new structure will affect businesses, legal practitioners, compliance officers, and stakeholders frequently engaging with the corporate registry for post-incorporation and related services.

“The Commission wishes to inform the general public, esteemed customers, and all stakeholders that in its continued effort to improve service delivery, it has become necessary to review certain service fees effective the 1st day of August 2025.

“This decision follows careful consideration of prevailing economic realities, rising operational costs, and engagement with key stakeholders prior to implementation,” the CAC said.It added, “The review is modest, competitive, and aligns with our commitment to enhance service delivery through digitalized operations and maintain the integrity of the Nigerian Corporate Registry.”

Reaffirming its resolve to provide efficient services, the Commission stated that the revised fees will help sustain and improve service delivery.

“We remain committed to transparency, accountability, and customer satisfaction as we strive to build a more resilient and responsive corporate regulatory environment.”

It added that the complete amended fee list is available on the Commission’s website, www.cac.gov.ng.

The CAC has raised voluntary striking-off fee for companies from N25,000 (for small companies) to N50,000 and from N25,000 to N100,000 for public companies.

It relisted a company from N50,000 for LTD/GTE and N100,000 for public companies.

The due diligence search (self-service) has been fixed at N50,000 across all categories.

The fee for requesting an extension of time to hold an annual general meeting is now N100,000 for public companies and N50,000 for all other companies.

Historical search reports now range from N20,000 to N30,000 per request. Other charges include N25,000 for restricting a director’s residential address and N5,000 for a certified true copy of documents or extracts.

For limited partnerships, the updated fees are N25,000 for voluntary striking off and relisting, N10,000 for a letter of good standing, N30,000 for registration and CTC of documents, and N10,000 for change of name.

For business names, voluntary striking off now costs N10,000, relisting is now N25,000, application for cessation is N10,000, a certified true copy of documents or extract is now N5,000, and a proprietor’s address restriction is now N25,000.

The Commission added that name reservations remain N1,000 across the board, while reservations for restricted words will now cost N5,000.
