Bayern Munich have reached an agreement with Liverpool to sign Colombian forward Luis Díaz in a deal worth €75 million (£65.5 million), including add-ons.

Liverpool had earlier rejected Bayern’s initial offer of £58.6 million, but have now granted Díaz permission to leave their pre-season tour in Asia and travel to Europe for a medical.

The 28-year-old was notably absent from Liverpool’s 4-2 friendly loss to AC Milan in Hong Kong amid growing speculation about his future.

Díaz joined Liverpool from Porto in January 2022 for an initial £37 million and has since scored 41 goals in 148 appearances.

He played a key role in their Premier League-winning campaign last season, netting 13 league goals and achieving a career-best 17 goals across all competitions in the 2024–25 season.

His impressive stats last season include a shot conversion rate of 18.3%—his highest in a Premier League season—and strong showings across various metrics: 18 combined goals and assists, 30 shots on target, 56 chances created, and 52 completed dribbles. He also led Liverpool in possession won in the final third relative to minutes played, doing so 22 times.

Bayern, Bundesliga champions for the 34th time last season with 99 goals scored, are adding Díaz to bolster their attack following the long-term injury to Jamal Musiala, who suffered a broken leg and dislocated ankle at the Club World Cup.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have already signed Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike this summer and are reportedly eyeing Newcastle’s Alexander Isak as a potential addition to their front line.
