A renowned diplomat, philanthropist, and statesman, Barrister Kashim Musa Tumsah, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the Fika Emirate Council and the family of the late Executive Chairman of the Yobe State Independent Electoral Commission (YSIEC), Dr. Muhammad Mamman, who passed away on 13th October 2025.

Represented by former Member of the House of Representatives for Nangere/Potiskum Federal Constituency, Hon. Hassan Jonga, Adamu Dazigau, former Member of the Yobe State House of Assembly for Nangere, alongside the KMT team, Barrister Tumsah described the death of Dr. Mamman as “a huge and painful loss, not only to Fika Emirate and Yobe State but to Nigeria at large.”

In his condolence message, Tumsah said:

“Dr. Muhammad Mamman was a dedicated public servant, an astute administrator, and a man of rare integrity whose life and career were defined by honesty and diligence.

His contributions to the development of Yobe State, particularly in strengthening democratic institutions and promoting good governance, will remain indelible in our hearts.

He was a bridge-builder who believed in fairness, justice, and equity, and who used every opportunity within his reach to advance peace and progress across communities.

Dr. Mamman’s humility, simplicity, and respect for others, irrespective of status or background, earned him admiration and love from all who knew him.

His demise has created a vacuum that will be difficult to fill, not only within Fika Emirate and Yobe State but in the broader national space where his wisdom and counsel were often sought.

We have lost a patriot, a friend, a scholar, and a true servant of humanity.”

The philanthropist further extended material and financial support as a mark of solidarity and compassion.

He donated the sum of N250,000 to the Fika Emirate Council and N200,000 to the family of the deceased, alongside several bags of rice and cartons of table water, to assist them during this difficult period.

According to him, these gestures were meant to express sympathy and to honour the memory of the late Dr. Mamman, who was known for his commitment to fairness, community service, and development.

“We pray Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings, reward his good deeds, and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.

“May He also comfort the family he left behind and give them the strength to bear this irreparable loss,” Tumsah added.

The Fika Emirate and members of the late Dr. Mamman’s family expressed appreciation to Barrister Tumsah for his visit and for his continued demonstration of compassion, empathy, and unity during their moment of mourning.

It could be recalled that Dr. Mamman died after a brief illness at the Yobe State Teaching Hospital, leaving behind 33 children, 36 grandchildren, and 3 wives.

He was a trained medical doctor and had served as the Executive Secretary of the Yobe State Hospital Management Board during the administration of Governor Ibrahim Geidam.
