Niger State Governor, farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago has advocated digitalization of all government related activities to ensure effective governance and accountability.
He made the call during the ongoing 8-day capacity building workshop organized for commissioner-designates, special advisers, permanent secretaries, local government chairmen-elect, and their Deputies at the Government House, Minna.
Farmer Umaru Bago said, the world has evolved with technology and in order for Niger State to have a cultural shift in service delivery, the State must have to embrace digitalization as it will help in curbing corrupt practices among civil servants.
The farmer governor also called on participants to have a shift in attitude towards governance and work as a team in order to achieve the set objectives of his administration.
He also stressed leadership, where he called on leaders to lead by example, be purposeful, intellectual, and exhibit good characters with integrity.
Farmer Umaru who also harped on the importance of training and retraining of workers described it as key to societal development and good governance as the social values gained from the training will help in building relationships and help society become more functional.
