Afrobeats sensation Asake has extended his record as the Nigerian artist with the most number one songs, after his latest single Badman Gangsta featuring French star Tiakola debuted at the top of the TurnTable Charts.

The hit marks Asake’s 14th number-one entry and his second chart-topper of 2025, following 99—a collaboration with Olamide, Seyi Vibez, Young Jonn, and Daecolm.

Badman Gangsta also becomes his 11th number one as a lead artist, continuing a streak that began with Omo Ope in January 2022.

Now a two-time Grammy nominee, Asake has had a stellar run in 2025.

After parting ways with Empire, he released Badman Gangsta under his own imprint, Giran Republic, in partnership with global distributor Gamma.

On June 5, he revealed via his X account that he’s gearing up to drop his fourth studio album titled Money—a nod to his popular moniker “Mr Money.”

The title aligns with his 2022 debut album Mr Money With The Vibe, which launched him into stardom.

Money will be his fourth LP in four years and his fifth project overall since breaking into the mainstream with his 2022 EP Ololade Asake.

It follows the massive success of his third album Lungu Boy, which was named 2024’s best-selling album by TurnTable Charts.

Asake also clinched the title of Nigeria’s best-selling artist for a third consecutive year in 2024, solidifying his dominance in the music scene.
