The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced that its National Executive Committee (NEC) will meet on July 24 to elect a new national chairman.
The decision was reached during a meeting of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), where Deputy National Chairman (North), Ali Dalori, officially assumed duties as acting national chairman following the resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje.
Speaking to reporters at the APC national secretariat in Abuja on Monday, Deputy National Secretary Festus Fuanter confirmed that the NEC meeting will focus on selecting a new leader for the party. He also noted that official notice of the meeting has been sent to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
