Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate for the November 8 Anambra election, Dr. George Moghalu, has received royal blessings from HRH M.U.N Okonkwo-Etusi, the Igwe of Eziowelle, as his campaign gathers momentum.
Continuing his community-to-community grassroots mobilization tour, Moghalu visited Uke and Eziowelle on Tuesday, where he was welcomed by cheering crowds of supporters and well-wishers.
Addressing the gathering, Moghalu expressed gratitude for their overwhelming support and reaffirmed his mission to transform Anambra.
He pledged that under his administration, local governments would have direct control of their allocations to drive meaningful community development.
Unveiling his agenda, the LP candidate promised free healthcare for the elderly (65 years and above), free education for children, and an end to exploitative tax practices burdening citizens.
On insecurity, Moghalu outlined plans for a central command-and-control system with CCTV coverage, 179 Hilux patrol vehicles connected to the police command, and better-equipped vigilante groups trained by retired military and police officers. He emphasized that security would be prioritized to restore investor confidence in the state.
“Security must come first, because no economy can grow where there is insecurity. Sadly, today, Anambra has not attracted a single investor because of the prevailing insecurity,” he said.
Moghalu urged Ndi Anambra to unite behind the Labour Party in the upcoming poll, assuring them that together, “Anambra ga adi mma ozo” (Anambra will be better again).
Stakeholders at the event praised his message of hope and expressed optimism in his vision for the state.
