The Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria (ALPSPN), Akwa Ibom State chapter, on Wednesday inaugurated its newly elected EXCO, held at the U3U Security company Ewet Housing Estate Office.
Administering the oath of allegiance, and office before inaugurating the new EXCOs, the Commissioner of Oaths, Barrister Bassey Asuquo charged the leadership of the association to uphold the ethical standards, professional conduct and the rule of law, while discharging their functions, in line with global best practices, and the constitution governing the esteemed security body.
In his inspiring and thought-provoking welcome address, as the duly elected and inaugurated Chairman of Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria (ALPSPN), Barrister Etetim Onuk, thanked the association for finding him fit to be elected as the Chairman of the body, and vowed to reposition them for greater productivity.
Onuk, himself the immediate past and the longest serving Chairman in Itu LGA, addressed the association on the five pillars of his visionary agenda, which include capacity building & professional training, collaboration with security agencies, regulatory compliance, ethical standards, welfare package for the betterment of the association., and community engagement and reconciliation to reposition the association.
He also acknowledged and appreciated the altruistic leadership prowess of the National President and expressed the branch’s concerns over the inconveniences he went through as a result of the cancelled flight by lbom Air, which frustrated his efforts to attend the event, and equally pledged to work with the apex security body in synergy towards achieving the set goals of the association.
Onuk particularly thanked the immediate past EXCO, led by the erstwhile Chairman, Captain Emmanuel Nkang of Tescon Security Company for his leadership strides, as well as the solid foundation he laid, upon which the newly sworn-in EXCO will continue to build on.
He acknowledged the credible and transparent electoral process that brought them to power, led by the Electoral Committee Chairman, Mr. Ubong Uduak Udobong, the CEO of U3U Security Company, and promised to take the security body to an enviable height.
Barr. Onuk said together with his EXCO, they will work closely with the regulatory body – the Nigeria Security & Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), particularly at the State level to promote professional best practices, and provide an enabling platform for mentorship, guidance and support to the association.
The State Commandant of NSCDC Akwa Ibom state command, Commandant Bashar Kefas Hussaini was ably represented by the Deputy Commandant Emmanuel Peters HOD PGC AKSC at the event.

The event drew Private Security stakeholders and members, and featured interactions as well as presentation of certificates of return to the new EXCOs.
