Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has ordered the immediate and indefinite suspension of Mr. Mkor Aondona, the Special Adviser on Documentation, Research, and Planning, following his arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged involvement in sextortion, cyberbullying, and blackmail.

He said the decision reflects his administration’s zero tolerance for criminality, ethical misconduct, and any act capable of tarnishing the image of the government.

Governor Alia reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to upholding integrity, discipline, and accountability in public service.

“No official under my administration will be shielded from the consequences of their actions.

“Any appointee found guilty of criminal behavior or professional misconduct will face the full wrath of the law,” he stated.

He emphasized that public office is a position of trust that must be exercised with honour, transparency, and a deep sense of responsibility.

Anyone who deviates from these values, he said, will not be accommodated in his government.

The Governor stressed that the suspended aide must fully submit himself to the legal process and answer to the serious allegations brought against him.

Governor Alia also reiterated his administration’s dedication to protecting the rights and dignity of all citizens, particularly women and vulnerable groups, and pledged to continue cooperation with law enforcement agencies to ensure justice is served.
