Hundreds of New Nigeria People Party (NNPP) have dumped their party and joined the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Dawakin Kudu local government area of Kano state,
The Decampees led by Hon Suleiman Dalibi Yargaya (Sardaunan Matasa) were formally received into APC by the Kano state party Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas at a political gathering held in Dawakin Kudu town.
In his speech at the occasion, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, represented by the state party secretary Ibrahim Zakari Sarina, expressed his delight in receiving the Decampees.
He said the way people are trooping into APC in Kano state is a clear testimony of the failure of the NNPP Government, which came into power by accident, and all good people of the state will never allow the government to live beyond 2027.
“As I welcome you into our great party, I urge you and all good party members to unite and work together to help liberate Kano state from the tyranny of bad leadership that is disturbing our dear state today.
“We must work together in achieving this goal, therefore let’s forgive each other for our past mistakes and misunderstanding, let’s continue to build the confidence of Kano state people on the philosophy of our party that has answers for our current social and economic quagmire we drifted in by a self-centered group of people under the umbrella of NNPP”
In his remarks, the former member representing Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal constituency Hon Mustapha Bala Dawakin said, the coming of new members into APC is encouraging and also a clear testimony that APC will reclaim Kano in the 2027 general election.
Speaking at the occasion the former candidate for the seat of member representing Dawakin constituency Kano state Assembly Hon Suleiman Dalibi Yargaya (Sardaunan Matasa) said, he and over 12,000 of his political associates from all 303 polling units across the 15 political wards of Dawakin Kudu constituency had ceased their NNPP membership and now joined APC.
He explained that they thought NNPP was a true political party that came with the mission of moving Kano state to prosperity but unfortunately almost two years in power there is nothing to show rather than disgracing people and destroying the state tradition and commercial heritage.
“So me and my political associates decided not to continue on this wrong track of NNPP and now we joined a party of patriotic and good leaders who have people, state, and the nation in their heart.
“As we join APC today, we promise to be a faithful member and dedicate ourselves to the development of the party and achieving its ultimate goals of making Kano state prosperous and great,” Hon Dalibi stated,
