The Deputy Senate President, Sen. Barau Jibrin has donated 1,000 motorbikes to the Kano State Police Command.
He made the donation on Saturday during the official handover of the motorbikes to the Police Command in Bompai.
While launching the motorbikes, Sen. Barau stated that Kano has been peaceful over the years.
He added that he contributed his quota to promoting peace by initially donating 22 vehicles last year.
“Last year, I made a commitment to contribute more to the peace of the state, and I am fulfilling it by donating these motorbikes to sustain the peace that the state has enjoyed over the years.
“With these motorcycles, communities can be rest assured that the safety of their lives and properties will be maintained.
“I want to sound a warning to all criminals in Kano state that they should desist from their dastardly acts because the police force will fish you out wherever you are hiding,” he warned.
The Senator added that plans are underway to support the police force with Walkie Talkies to ensure enhanced communication with the police officers.
Sen. Barau told the Command not to hesitate if there was any support from him.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Garba, lauded the gesture of Senator pointing out that the act not only symbolizes a means of transportation but a great investment in the force
He also thanked Sen. Barau for the ongoing construction of a modern police secondary school in Kabo Local Government Area (LGA).
“As we embrace this new chapter of enhanced mobility and operations capacity, I urge my fellow police officers to embrace these motorcycles as tools of service to excellence.
“Let us wield them with pride and professionalism and steadfast commitment to upholding the values of integrity, accountability, and respect for the rule of law.
“I encourage you to also leverage this significant investment to form stronger bonds with the communities we serve with trust cooperation and mutual respect,” he stated.
