Directors of Personnel Management from the 44 Local Government Areas of Kano State have commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his support for local government workers and the implementation of development projects across the state.
The commendation was made during a special meeting of the Directors of Personnel Management (DPM) Forum, held at the conference hall of Tarauni Local Government Area.
The meeting, led by the Chairman of the DPM Forum and Director of Personnel Management of Tarauni Local Government, Tijjani Madaki Gulya, brought together Directors of Administration from all 44 Local Government Areas of the state.
The directors expressed appreciation to the state government for providing essential working facilities and materials, as well as improving the working environment for local government staff.
According to them, the measures have contributed to easing administrative responsibilities and enhancing effective service delivery to residents across the state.
Gulya particularly commended Governor Yusuf for providing working materials and improving the conditions under which local government employees operate, saying the support had enabled staff to discharge their responsibilities more effectively and efficiently.
He also appreciated the governor for allocating Hajj seats to Directors of Administration from the 44 Local Government Areas for this year’s Hajj exercise, describing the gesture as an important demonstration of the government’s commitment to the welfare of local government workers.
The Forum Chairman further commended the Kano State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs for its efforts to strengthen cordial relationships between local government authorities and their staff.
He stressed the importance of cooperation, discipline and mutual understanding in building an efficient local government administration capable of delivering quality services to the people.
Gulya also urged local government workers to continue to adhere strictly to civil service rules and regulations and shun all forms of corruption, saying transparency, accountability and professionalism were essential to effective service delivery.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the DPM Forum to supporting the Kano State Government in implementing policies and programs aimed at strengthening local government administration and improving the lives of citizens.
The Forum also appreciated the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Muhammad Tajo Othman; the Permanent Secretary, Hajiya Fatima Adamu Barde; and other directors in the ministry for their continued support and cooperation with local government personnel.
