Police Arrest 7 Suspected Pipeline Vandals in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended seven persons suspected of vandalizing NNPC pipeline and recovered 53 pieces of damaged fuel pipelines from them.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Adamawa State, SP Suleiman Yahaya who disclosed this, said the Command acted upon information provided by a Good Samaritan.

Yahaya listed the arrested suspects to include Umar Musa, 40, a resident of Kaduna Road in Abuja; Mohammed Hassan, 25, a resident of Kasuwan Shanu Potiskum ,Yobe State; Adamu Abdullahi, 28, a resident of Bununu Funai, Yobe State and Yakubu Adamu, 27, a resident of Sabon Layi, Potiskum, Yobe State.

The others are 40-year-old Gabriel Wale 40 from Mafoluku Oshodi, Lagos State; Abubakar Garba 40, from Anguwan Dosa, Kaduna State and Aliyu Muhammad 28 from Darazo local government of Bauchi state.

“This distressing incident poses a substantial threat to public safety and represents a severe act of economic sabotage as it pertains to a crucial infrastructure linking the Adamawa and Southern part of the country,” the police spokesman said.

SP Yahaya added that the case has been meticulously documented for a comprehensive investigation and measures were underway to apprehend their collaborators who operate along with them from behind the scene.

He added that these achievements underscored the Command’s resolute dedication to safeguarding public assets and ensuring citizens’ safety through collaborative community efforts.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris urges members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities around them,” Yahaya said.
