The Labour Party has released its timetable for the 2027 general elections, setting out fees and key dates for aspirants seeking to contest on its platform.

According to the schedule made public on Sunday, presidential hopefuls are required to pay a total of N50 million. This covers N10 million for the Expression of Interest form and N40 million for the Nomination form.

For governorship aspirants, the party fixed a combined fee of ₦25 million, comprising ₦5 million for the Expression of Interest and N20 million for the Nomination form.

In a notable exception, Abia State Governor and party leader, Alex Otti, will receive his nomination forms free of charge.

The party offered no explanation, stating only that the gesture would be carried out by the National Working Committee (NWC) led by Nenadi Usman.

Aspirants for legislative positions will also pay varying amounts. Senate hopefuls are to pay ₦10 million, House of Representatives aspirants N5 million, while those contesting for State House of Assembly seats will pay N3 million.

Despite the fees, the party introduced concessions aimed at promoting inclusivity.

The National Publicity Secretary, Ken Asogwa, said women, persons living with disabilities, and young aspirants aged 25 to 30 will only be required to purchase the Expression of Interest forms across all categories.

He noted that the decision aligns with the party’s core values of equal opportunity and social justice.

The timetable shows that the sale of forms will begin on May 16, with party primaries for National Assembly positions scheduled to conclude on May 29.
