President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday reiterated his administration’s resolve to build a stable, peaceful, and prosperous Nigeria, declaring that the well-being of citizens remains the central focus of his government’s policies.
Speaking at the State House in Abuja while receiving a delegation of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors led by Hope Uzodimma, the President said that longstanding political and economic challenges undermining national prosperity are being systematically addressed through ongoing reforms.
According to a statement by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President (Information & Strategy), Tinubu emphasized that his administration is restructuring the economy to promote inclusive participation, particularly for poor and vulnerable Nigerians, while sustaining initiatives that create opportunities across all sectors.
The meeting was attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima, APC National Chairman Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, and several state governors, including Mai Mala Buni, Nasir Idris, Sheriff Oborevwori, Uba Sani, among others. Former political office holders such as Aminu Bello Masari and Ifeanyi Okowa were also present.
The President urged the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to intensify grassroots mobilisation and sensitisation efforts, stressing the importance of citizen participation in shaping the nation’s future.
“You represent the conscience of a nation determined to break the shackles of poverty and hopelessness,” Tinubu said, adding that national development depends on a shared vision for progress and unity.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to democratic principles, including adherence to the rule of law, respect for judicial decisions, and the separation of powers. According to him, these principles are essential for strengthening Nigeria’s democratic foundation.
Tinubu also dismissed opposition criticisms, encouraging citizens not to be swayed by misinformation. He maintained that transformative leadership requires resilience and continuity, noting that the reforms being implemented are critical to long-term national growth.
“I will not run away from the responsibility of governance. Together, we will build a nation where every citizen has a stake, regardless of background or region,” he said.
Earlier, Uzodimma, who also serves as Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, briefed the President on the group’s nationwide activities.
He disclosed that structures have been established from regional to ward levels, with ongoing mobilization across markets, schools, professional groups, and grassroots political platforms.
Uzodimma commended the President’s leadership and assured him of the group’s commitment to advancing the administration’s objectives.
In his remarks, Masari described Tinubu as a courageous reformer, acknowledging that policy changes often come with initial challenges.
He, however, noted that such reforms are necessary for national progress and assured the President of continued support from political stakeholders in the North-West region.
Other speakers, including Yilwatda and several governors, praised the administration’s infrastructure drive and economic reforms, expressing confidence in the government’s direction.
The meeting concluded with Tinubu pledging unwavering support for the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, promising to remain steadfast in delivering on his administration’s vision for a more inclusive and prosperous Nigeria.
