Pope Leo XIV called for renewed global efforts toward peace and warned against the dangers of ongoing conflicts during an Easter Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica.

Speaking Saturday evening, the pope urged people worldwide to recognize the risks posed by wars and divisions and to take serious steps to promote stability and reject violence.

“Distrust and fear have allowed the bonds between us to be severed through war, injustice, and the isolation of peoples and nations,” he said, warning against what he described as a growing sense of paralysis in confronting global challenges.

The pope stressed the need to overcome divisions and called on the international community to ensure that current crises do not hinder efforts to end conflicts and restore stability.

In recent remarks, he expressed hope that U.S. President Donald Trump would work toward ending the war in the Middle East, reiterating his call for an end to violence in the region.
