Former Kano State Governor and 2023 presidential candidate Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), registering as a member and receiving his party card at Gidan Kwankwasiyya in Kano on Monday.
The event drew prominent political figures, including Peter Obi, Rotimi Amaechi, Aminu Tambuwal, David Mark, Dino Melaye, and John Odigie-Oyegun.
Kwankwaso’s defection from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) marks a significant realignment of opposition forces ahead of the 2027 elections.
As he formally joins the ADC, the presence of Obi, Amaechi, Tambuwal, and other opposition heavyweights signals the emergence of a formidable coalition poised to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.
