President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, accompanied by the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, on Tuesday arrived in the United Kingdom for a two-day historic State Visit at the invitation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

A statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, said the presidential aircraft touched down at London Stansted Airport at approximately 3:18 p.m., where the Nigerian leader was received on behalf of the Royal Family by Mark Bevan.

Also present at the airport were Nigeria’s acting High Commissioner to the UK, Ambassador Mohammed Maidugu, alongside other senior officials.

According to the statement, the delegation of Nigerian political office holders, including senators, governors, and ministers, later welcomed the President upon his arrival at his hotel.

During the visit, President Tinubu and the First Lady will be hosted at Windsor Castle from 18 to 19 of March 2025.

The State Visit is expected to deepen bilateral relations between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, with a strong focus on enhancing economic cooperation and exploring new investment opportunities for businesses in both countries.
