To strengthen the educational sector and reduce the number of out-of-school children in Kaugama Local Government Area, the Gawon Bariki Progressive Association has constructed and donated a block of three classrooms and 200 sets of desks and chairs to the Local Education Authority.
An executive member of the association, Muhammad Yakubu Dakaiyyawa, said the gesture was part of the association’s ongoing commitment to community development and progress.
He explained that the construction of the classrooms and the donation of desks were aimed at improving learning conditions and enhancing access to quality education in the area.
Representing the Executive Secretary of the Senior Secondary School, Permanent Member Abdullahi Hudu commended the association for the initiative, noting that the donation would help address the acute shortage of desks and chairs in some schools under the Local Education Authority.
In his remarks, the District Head of Dakaiyyawa, Dallatun Hadejia, Sambo Usman Ginsai, expressed appreciation for the association’s consistent educational support, describing the intervention as timely and impactful.
The Hon. Commissioner for Education, represented by the Special Adviser on Education and Monitoring, Hon. Hussain Suleiman, also praised the Gawon Bariki Progressive Association for its laudable efforts.
He urged other community groups to emulate the initiative and assured the association that the state government would give urgent attention to the requests presented by its members.
Earlier, the Vice Chairman of the Gawon Bariki Progressive Association, Dr. Suleman Mu’azu, alongside the Local Education Secretary of Kaugama, Ibrahim Mukhtar, welcomed participants and thanked them for honouring the occasion.
