Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has opened up about his ongoing search for spiritual fulfillment, revealing that he converted from Christianity to Islam.
In an interview with streamer Playboymax, Burna Boy said his curiosity and desire for deeper understanding led him to study different religious texts — yet the more he learns, the more uncertain he becomes.
“Growing up, I was a Christian, and then I converted to Islam,” he said.
“It’s like I’ve studied everything, but I’m still trying to figure out what’s really going on.
“The more I research, the more confused I get.”
The singer described his spiritual journey as a continuous quest for personal truth and enlightenment.
Burna Boy’s revelation comes months after fellow Nigerian artist 9ice disclosed that he converted to the Ifa religion following what he described as a “spiritual attack” that left him bedridden for six months.
9ice said he now wishes he had embraced the faith much earlier.
