NEMA, Kano Distribute Relief Materials to Fire Victims in Kibiya, Fatima Simra Market

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Kano Operations Office, in collaboration with the Kano State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), has delivered relief materials to victims of recent fire disasters in Kibiya Local Government Area and Fatima Simra Multipurpose Market.

The distribution exercise was formally flagged off by the Governor of Kano State, who was represented by the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Adamu Kibiya.

In his remarks, the Commissioner commended NEMA for its swift response and applauded the Federal Government for consistently supporting disaster-affected communities across the state.

Speaking during the event, the Head of Operations, Dr. Nuraddeen Abdullahi, who represented the Director General of NEMA, Zubaida Umar, reiterated the agency’s commitment to providing timely relief to victims of emergencies.

He stated that the intervention, which comprised food items such as rice, maize, spaghetti, and condiments, demonstrates the Federal Government’s dedication to easing the hardship faced by affected households.

Dr. Abdullahi further noted that the gesture forms part of NEMA’s ongoing efforts to strengthen disaster response and recovery initiatives nationwide.

The event attracted stakeholders from various sectors and was conducted peacefully in an atmosphere of cooperation and empathy.
